It's Time To Shine !August 28-September 1, 2023
💡It's Time To Shine!💡
This post will be really short because no one has time to read a long drawn out post the day before we begin the 2023-2024 school year :) First... THANK YOU for an amazing Open House. All I saw were happy faces and did not hear any complaints. That's because you were prepared, informed, and communicative. Thank you for making that night run as smooth as it did.
After braving the crowds in three separate counties yesterday to secure the just right items for my rising 6th grader, I am in recovery mode and dreading my weekly grocery trip to Wal-Mart. But after receiving the call from our superintendent while in my 6th shoe store yesterday, I grew excited again because I can not wait to see where we (our students and the DRES staff) will be in June of 2024. We have huge goals to obtain but I know we can reach them. You actually exceeded last year's academic goals so I have no doubt this year we will do the same while increasing our students' SEL proficiencies. Isn't it amazing what an on-time word of encouragement can do to reset the mind? I hope that this week you will be that on-time needed encouragement to your colleague, student, parent, etc. We are all going through something but a kind word can change so much.
So in closing, I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow as we continue to make deposits with families and students (just building on the HUGE deposits we made Thursday night). Thanks again for all you have done, are doing, and will do for the DRES students, families, and staff.
