Week of 2/19-2/23

Last week was a one of highs and lows but most definitely know the highs came from my walkthroughs and interactions with staff and students. While walking through the rooms, I took pictures of WICOR and Artisan Teacher Evidence and will keep this up in the coming weeks to document the wonderful things happening each day for our students. Since this month we have been focused on anticipation guides, I want to share an evidence from a 4th grade classroom of Anticipation Guides completed as part of HMH Modules. This is built in to teh curriculum but you and I know sometimes we don't feel we have the time to do these options in curriculum. After hearing the students and the teacher talk through the process I argue that we don't have time NOT to do this strategy. If you're doing anticipation guides in your room BRAVO. If you are not, what are you waiting for? There is a saying that we make time for what's important. Activating prior knowledge and setting a purpose for reading is important. Would love for you to text me or email me pictures of anticipation guides you employ for the remainder of the month!

Thank you for all each of you do to make DRE run! A HUGE THANK YOU to Ms. Tina for making a Soul Food Lunch a success year after year! Have a great weekend!        -Angela
