May 20-31 Close out plans and meet with parents face to face or phone call, no messages in Rooms, signature sheet in sec 6 of cumulative folder and new "MTSS" sticker on the outside of cumulative folder

3rd-5th Grade Homeroom Teachers Survey Reminders

  • If students opted in the Fall/Winter, they do not need to opt in again, but you must communicate with the parents that they will be participating in the survey again.
  • I will email you all records from each survey so if you do not have an updated survey permission for Spring you can look at winter (4th and 5th) and BOG and winter (3rd) to view previous permission slips.


Congratulations to Mrs. Lyons! She has recently been selected to participate in the 2024-25 Schools in Parks Collaborative professional development program! 

Remember...


This weekend is a scheduled PowerSchool Maintenance Weekend.  PowerSchool usually goes down around 5pm on Friday and isn't scheduled to come back up until late Sunday night/early Monday morning.  Some months you may find you have access early on Sunday.  It is not advised to make any changes or enter any grades during this time period.  Your changes may not save.  Maintenance is still running in the background.  Time is precious and we don't want to have to do things twice! 😉

As many of you know, at Dixon Road ES we will be celebrating the love of reading all month for Read Across America. I am excited to have time to celebrate authors, books, and hopefully ignite a love of reading in some students who don't have it already. HERE you will find events planned for the month. It is the expectation that at least twice this month you meet with your buddy class to read. The list of buddy classes can be found on the calendar in the notes section at the bottom.   This week, I wanted to share a quick video that illustrates the GIST Strategy that can be found on the walkthrough tool under Reading Strategies. To hep students get the gist (get it...gist) of the strategy you could do as a class a few times and then after some time and with scaffolding as needed you can gradually release it to students to complete it independently. Also, please know that I placed the  WICOR Playbook on our dashboard under Instructional /Digital Resources for your convenience.
